Yesterday tranquil Benton Park Lake in St. Louis was invaded by monsters belching smoke, grinding gears and leaving their broad tracks across the muddy bottom. The massive adult reared its segmented yellow neck high to keep a watch on its smaller, more active herd. Snouts buried in the deep black goo they scraped muck, debris and trash to expose the hard concrete bottom.
Fearful denizens quack, squawk, waddle and fly trying to avoid the terrifying creatures.
Thank goodness I had my camera to document this. My friends and family would have never believed me without this proof.
Get out into your neighborhood with your camera. Who knows what is waiting to be discovered?
Namaste, Wayne
