The people who are most overwhelmed with career choices are the ones who think a career makes a life.

SOUND advice Nancy! I wish I'd had it earlier in life, it would have helped I think, for a dozen years I beat a trade/business/career and finally realized that none of it was worth being alone, or pushing away those that loved me.

You are so right, Nancy! In my seventy years I have never had a career, but I have had almost every job I've ever wanted: office manager, consultant, marketing manager, high school counselor, corporate sales rep. I've loved every one of them. I'm hoping I have a second life as I have already thought of things I want to do/be: be in the Army so that I might sing in the Army Chorus, a private detective, an interior designer and even a minister. I never wanted to limit myself to doing or being one thing and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stretch my wings.

I learned that same lesson a while back. I work as an Administrative Assistant at my job. I work my 8 hours and then leave at 4 pm and don't think about it or do anything with it until the next morning at 7 am.
I don't stress over the small stuff anymore.
