Follow up to 3/3/07

I had met up with them on 3/10/07, we met at the usual gas station and we all followed each other. We have a new member with us and he seems very interested. This was his first real investigation. The guys had gone there the night before, but I had other plans so I went tonite instead.

The place was supposed to clear, and no one was supposed to be in there. When we pulled up we noticed about 5 cars. We entered the building and they seemed just as surprised as we were. We were told not to touch any set ups or move any furniture. The team leader was bummed, our controlled setting was tainted. We figured this would be a good time to educate the new guy on the equipment and review some evidence while waiting- and we waited! The crew did not vacate until a little after 11pm.

The new guy was spooked! he is not used to this stuff yet! We split into teams of two. I stayed in the dining areas and the new guy and the leader went off into another part of the building. It was fairly quiet on our side, but the other side was active. They kept hearing giggling and laughter. We have yet to reveiw any tapes, so I don't know if anything was picked up. On the stills, I got nothing..not even an orb!

On my pictures in the other areas , all I picked up was some orbs. We did think we picked up something earlier, but it turns out it was the camera's settings. You have to be careful with your settings, you can acheive these images that will excite you at first- then you realize that it is nothing but some cool pictures you actually made.

Since I have kids at home and I have not been feeling well, I usually leave alot earlier than the rest of them. I can't pull overnighters, unless I am staying in the place. I have extreme back pain and exhaustion at times- but the leader knew this beforehand and still wanted me on his team. I left at midnight- which of course...leads to being teased about turning into a pumpkin.

As of now these locations are still classified as undisclosed(owners request). I have been lucky to become involved with this group.

Interesting article Donna. My son swears there was some paranormal stuff goin' on in the radio station where he used to work. Doors banging, footsteps etc. He'd go to check it out, nothing was there. He mentioned it to one of his co-workers, who to his surprise said he'd heard the same things during his shifts...spooky stuff.

It might be Lynn, sounds like something is happening. I wonder if something happened there years ago or if someone who is attached to the station just doesn't want to leave yet.

This is good stuff Donna. I like it. It gives me a chill when you explain what your getting from these sites. Have you tried getting into the underground tunnels on the grounds of the old Kings Park Psychiatric center. I heard bad stuff happened in the early 20s. Torture, brain labotomies, you know. I bet you get something down there. Look into it if you have not already.

Charles, I did know a few people who have investigated and explored the tunnels, I have never been down there( or the ones by me). I usually do not trespass! - too chicken!! hearing the stories have made me very intrigued also. If Kings Park gave us persmission to go ahead I would definetly go in there. The group I belong to only goes into authorized sites. We even get permits!
As for Kings Park, Central Islip and Pilgrim- There is a website that has alot of info on this stuff- LIOddities.
All the stuff you mentioned did happen, and there is hauntings occurring in those buildings. I have seen some pictures, and have talked to people about their experiences.
You know what place would be cool to visit- Waverly. I think it is in Kansas (or something like that).

Donna, since we're on the subject two things. First have you ever heard of the urban Legend(I did a fiction article on this) "Mary's Grave". I wonder what you could get from that site located in the deep woods of St James. I'm sure you know about Lake Ronkonkoma. And the second question, if you like scary reading along the lines of what your doing, may I suggest "Creepers" by David Morell. It's fiction about a group of college students who go into abandoned buildings looking for artifacts, paranormal stuff, and other things. But I dont want to give it away. Ok I'm gabbing here. Thanks, I don't read as much as I use to! but as for those legends - I have heard about them. ..also there is a paranormal group that spoke in libraries. The Paranormal Adventurers- they have gone to some cool places. I am not sure if they are doing it this year, but they did a whole year of it last year. They also have a website with infor on it. They caught something in the Sweet Hollow area. If they come around to your area, it might be something that might interest you. (it did me!!)
