My daughter Amy is getting married on April 28. She lives in Saskatchewan, which about 3000 miles from me. I am feeling left out of all the wedding showers her friends have been throwing for her. Well, I have decided to have a virtual shower for her and invite my friends at Gather along. I went shopping for some food, and have a gift picked out .Tea ,coffee and punch will be served. Please come and bring your favorite party food, pick out a gift and B.O.B if you want.

Nice way to start the evening!
Jim
It'll taste wonderful with all the sweets you provided. YUMMY!!! I love weddings.
Sue, he will be home in 7 days but unfortunately he is going to have to leave again after 3 weeks. We decided financially we needed for him to do another year to get where we need to be.
I understand about your daughter. Weddings have always fascinated the heck out of me. I LOVE weddings, all kinds of weddings!! ;-) Just ask Walker!! LOL
Best of luck to the Bride and Groom and thanks so much for inviting me...I haven't been to a shower in ages! this is so much fun! :-D
Mom of the bride be sure and let her know that she may be feeling a bit overwhelmed as it draws closer. Kinda like this person (I know I feel this way a lot)
Walker and I are still trying to figure out WHAT to tell my parents!!
I can hear my mother now.
"He's HOW OLD???"
And Dad.... well, YIKES!! Something tells me I'll need a bit more to drink THAT night. LOL
Here's hoping your daughter's wedding goes REALLY REALLY smoothly, and that everyone in her family approves of the groom. ;-)
As for overwhelmed, Kelly's about ready to get a prescription for something. I know my Dad's side of the family (she's the daughter of Dad's oldest sister, first child born after Dad), and it's all POLITICS, so it's no dang wonder Kelly feels STRESSED!!
I've been giving Walker daily updates on what Kelly and Becky (my sister) have told me about the plans, and he just sits there with his mouth open. He said something very nice to me the other day.
"You see what Kelly and Ky are doing? Let's do the opposite!" ;-)
AMEN to that!!!!
Walker INSISTS I keep mine (good, because if he didn't I would insist!). Good, since one of the exes who TOOK his name kept it, and is named Mary. My MIDDLE name is Mary!!! LOL
A great excuse that even my Dad's family will understand...when we tell them. LOL
We have a deal. He handles my family, I handle his exes! LOL So far that's worked out great. They LIKE me!! haha
I can't help but think of something you wrote about getting butterflies 14 years after marrying Chris. It must be wonderful to be that much in love for SO LONG!!!
Wendy, here's hoping Amy has those same butterflies for all of her married life!!

His kisses still make my knees so weak they buckle. Just his voices can bring on the butterflies. We are permanent newlyweds. We still walk through stores holding hands. And stop to share a quick kiss just because.
Our very first valentines day together he surprised me with a steak dinner, on a blanket on the floor surrounded by red and white candles and a huge boquet of roses.
I give to you and you give to me,
True love, true love.
So on and on it'll always be,
True love, true love.
For you and I
Have a guardian angel on high,
With nothin' to do.
But to give to you and to give to me,
Love forever true.
For you and I
Have a guardian angel on high,
With nothin' to do.
But to give to you and to give to me,
Love forever true.
Love forever true.
My Mormor and Morfar were like that after 60 years of marriage until she died in 2004. They really were amazing to watch.
I know what you mean about your love's VOICE!!! Every time Walker leaves me a voice mail on my phone I SAVE IT, and when the darn thing filled up I started recording them into my computer. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I bet since your name is JULIE, Chris thinks you're a real JEWEL. ;-) I'm sure he'd think that no matter what your name was, but Julie's an awsome name.
Yes Amy is very traditional and is taking his name , so she will go from near the front of the line to the near the back ( Ford to Robertson)
I have not seen Amy's dress yet, it doesn't represent our wealth, just how much money she managed to save , she bought it herself .
Her bridesmaids are wearing teal.
Congratulations Amy
I am glad Amy is doing what is right for her. A white dress, I suppose? I bet she'll look STUNNING in it!!
I am going to wear BRIGHT RED, when I get married, and my neighbour is going to make it for me!! ;-) If I decide on bridesmaids, I think I'll put them in a shade of blue, just lighter than navy.
My favorite piece of advice for Newly weds is " When you are wrong admit it , when you are right shut up ! "
Here are some more drinks
For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
