This is the family who fostered my maternal grandfather, Andrew Lee Chafin, Sr., when he was a child. In fact, he might be one of the small boys present in the picture. Anyone want to venture a guess as to what family this is?

Whatever, it's a great photo.
In the front row, second from left is Captain William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield, and to his left, his wife Lecivy née Chaffin (probably an aunt). The two, with their 13 children, took in my orphaned grandfather when he was a small boy. Perhaps I'll try to write an article in the near future, telling what I can of his minor involvement in one of the bloodiest feuds in history.
