Well, I'll start with the last question, as it's very easy for me. I think the big, plastic Burger King is way out ahead in the race for the most annoying advertising campaign. He's just creepy. Have you seen the commercial where his big head shows up in someone's window with a breakfast sandwich? If he showed up in my window, I'd grab a hammer and start beating the crap out of him. Now, it's a little tougher to narrow down my faovirtes. There's a lot of good ones, both in creativity and effectiveness, making the rounds now. Here are a few I think are worthy of Addys, the creative equivalent of an Oscar. 1. The Geico, or is it Gieco. You know the lizard that sells discount insurance. First, he's been around for a while, maybe ten years. He's still fresh and humorous. And the fact is that, using this campaign, this company went from a fledging start-up to a major player in the insurance agency. 2. The Cavemen, pitchmen for the same company. This campaign really makes us all look at the how funny political correctness gone too far can go. My favorite caveman commercial is the one with the guy is with his therapist when his mother calls in and he puts on her speaker pohne. 3. Peyton Manning, barring any extreme trouble with the law or the revelution of a completely different person, the Indianapolis Colts quarterback (and Tennessee's favorite son) is on track to become to top pitchman of all time. He seems clean and humble, and that makes him very appealing. He's also not afraid to make fun of himself, which makes his commercials a little more memorable and makes him a little more endearing. He does run a risk of overexposure, but his agents seem to have that in control. Before the Superbow, I think I saw around 8 large cut-outs of him selling everything from soda to crackers. 4. Diane Keaton. Years ago, she probably would have never given though to commercials, and I don't think there's any financial need for her to do them now, with her career still going strong. But her L'Oreal commercials are really great. They make me feel like going old isn't that bad. (Of course, I'm 15 years younger and don't look nearly as good.) Her commercials are much different than facial care products endorsed by other celebreties and I feel that's probably a good credit to her agent. Remember the Cher infomercial fiasco of a few years ago? And, if you're even older, you'll remember Pat Boone being caught up in some acne products that had a lot of side effects. Keaton is one of the most popular actress among women over 40 and she's hooked herself with a well-trusted and affordable cosmetic brand. Heck, maybe I'll go by the whole line and end up looking like anolder Annie Hall. So, what are your favorites?

my favorites ones are the M&M's guys-
Luckily, my DVR keeps me from having to sit through too many commercials.
I am forever getting these surveys that want to know what (type of company) you have seen TV ads for in the past few months. I can't ever remember any and it has only gotten worse with Tivo. We time shift everything so we can watch it in 25 minutes instead of an hour. By the time we cut out all the crap on a show like Deal or No Deal, we can watch it in 15 minutes flat.
My favorite is for the California Cheese comes from happy cows commercials - especially the one where the cows run up and ring the farmers door bell and after he answers it and closes the door the cows bust up laughing - followed by the tourists trying to take a picture of mom and baby by the fence with the cow next to them and the cow says 'cheese' and the parents get all excited because they think the baby said her first word and make a mad dash for the car while the cow laughs.
The one commercial I miss the most is the one where a guy enters a room and everything is white and this angelic voice says 'Welcome to eternity', in the room is a clock, a dove flies away, there is a huge refrigerator and a table with a platter of monster size chocolate chip cookies. The guy runs up and crams his mouth full of cookies and is really enjoying them then all of a sudden he spies the fridge and a big glass on the table, he opens it and it is full of milk cartons - he goes to pour a glass and all the containers are empty - as the guy emits a full mouth exasperated sound the screen goes black with the words 'Got Milk' in white letters.
I do love the I"m a Mac and I'm a PC commercials so I guess the Mac Guy would be an icon. I long for the days of Captain Crunch!
Sandra, the squirrels cause the car crash.
Debra, I had forgotten the California Cows. Those are always so funny. I also like the AFLAC duck.
Nancy, what do you think about the the "I just want to go home" puppy/dog commercials. I think they're put out by pedigree with the connection being that pedigree makes a donation to adoption centers with every purchase. I can't stand those commercials. I like dogs, but they look so sad. They are obviously at a shelter and the script is basically, "I know how to fetch. I know how to sit. What I don't know is why I am here. I'm a good dog and I just want to go home."
My favorites are probably the early AFLAC commercials (They're getting kind of stupid now) and the Budweiser Frogs. They were classic.
