This has been a couple busy weeks! One afternoon last week, I got a hysterical call from my son’s fiancée. Fortunately, I don’t go to pieces as easily as I used to. What had seemed to be a crisis was soon under control. It turned out OK due to patience and prayers.
My son-in-law got a full time attorney job! Hooray! He was admitted to the bar in June of ’03 (the attorney bar, not the local pub). He has worked for one attorney since then as a general helper, doing legal work, answering phones, filing and whatever needed doing. He also worked on his own, doing wills for people in their own homes. Elderly clients especially appreciated that convenience. Now he is getting to do REAL attorney work all the time; he has had two out of town trips so far and is really enjoying the new experiences. My daughter is also an attorney and they both have 10+ hr days now. So that is where Grandma comes in.
I go over in the morning at varying times, from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM depending on whether they have to be in court first thing. I get the three kids ready for the day. They have one child of their own, Liam, who is 4. In Feb of ’05, they got permanent custody of one of my oldest son’s children, Jacob, who is almost 8 now. Then in July of ’05, they got permanent custody of his sister, Caitlin, who is almost 6 now. Jacob goes to one school and Caitlin goes to all day kindergarten at another school. After those two get to school, Liam goes with me for the day. In the afternoon, we reverse the process, picking the kids up, then going to dance class, YMCA classes, soccer practice or whatever.
I work part time as an RN charge nurse at our local hospital. My schedule is great for me, 5 evening shifts in a row, then 9 days off. I LOVE those 9 days off. When I have to go back every other Friday, I get depressed. However, with the hospital currently for sale, maybe there will be some juicy gossip floating around tomorrow.
My daughter and her husband also had a foster child for 14 months. Liam and I went and visited her today before her physical therapy appt. She was so excited to see us. I am happy to see how well she has adjusted to being back home and how much she is progressing in her development.
Well, I have to go watch Gonzaga play their NCAA game now. I hope they win but always expect the worst. At least, WSU won this morning, so one area team has moved on to the next game.
Have a good evening, Wilma

Gonzaga lost. Now I just have WSU left to root for, Selene.
Melissa, I started working evenings originally, then worked day shift for many years. I went back to evenings after my divorce; there wasn't anyone at home in the evening and the shift is a little quieter than the day shift.
Nice to read about you. Thanks for reading my sledding article. Have a great weekend!
I am seeking a full time paying job with part time hours. Like 5 minutes shifts and 9 years off between.
Call me if you hear of anything
