Explain please; I'm too frustrated to think

It's like this.  I babysat my grand daughter all day, which I love, but then  I have to rush to get work done so I can watch my favorite shows at night.  So, I'm rushing around because at 8 Survivor comes on and this is a show I don't want to miss.  It's 8 and I rush to the couch, turn the Chanel and, yup, basket ball is on.  Now tell me, why does it have to be on a major network when there are a gazillion sports channels available for one, and two, I doubt very much if every household in America watches basketball.  Most people have to have cable to watch TV, so why isn't it on a cable channel.

OK, I calm down and hubby and I decide we'll watch Howard TV instead because we haven't been able to see Bubba's wedding show yet.  I'm still pissed but at least I'll be able to relax and watch something on TV, after all I do pay quite a bit each month for this luxury.  I go to On Demand, what? yup, there's a problem.  Probably because everyone has been forced to watch On Demand tonight since nothing else is on regular TV.  I get a message, unplug cable box for ten seconds and try again.  OK, move out the shelving unit so I can get to the plug, unplug cable box, wait ten minutes, plug back in and try again.  Same message and continues to say that if problem persists, call cable company.  Yeah right, like that will help.  Well, hubby says when he is done eating (he just got home from work), he'll call.  Good Luck DH.

Well, I vented, I don't feel any better, but, could someone tell me why sports programing needs to be on ABC, NBC or CBS please, and I don't want to hear that it's for the advertising dollars winning this bid to air this program brings.
