Sure, I know. When you start talking points it's about Weight Watchers. But, the truth is anyone who is working on weight loss can benefit from knowing which foods are either Low-Fat, Low-Cal, or High Fiber - or all three! I've compiled a list of items that are only a single Weight Watchers point and that I have integrated into my eating habits. I, by no means, know every one-pointer out there, so I would love to hear from other Weight Watchers about one point food finds they've come across.
For those who do not belong to Weight Watchers, points are calculated using number of calories, number of fat grams and number of fiber grams. As an example, 35 calories, 2 gram of fat and 0 fiber is only a single point! By the same token, 100 calories, 3 grams of fat and 12 grams of fiber are also only one point. It's about ratios. So, my favorite one-pointers for this point in the game are as follows:
~Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges - gotta have my cheese! I use these for sandwiches, snacks, etc.
~La Tortilla Factory tortillas (SOME of the styles) - I was so happy to find one point tortillas! They actually taste pretty good and come in several flavors.
~Yoplait Light Smoothies - I actually prefer the same product mde by Albertson's, but one point and you get dairy/calcium and they are easy to "drink" on the go.
~Weight Watchers Cherry Fruities - a whole pack of these chewy candies are only a point and it takes me about 45 minutes to eat the whole pack. That's a long time to keep chewing!
~Thomas' Whole Grain Light English Muffins - add some 1 point cheese and yum!
~Many breads are only one point per slice, you just need to READ THE LABELS!
~five slices of Deli Select sliced chicken lunchmeat - yes FIVE!
~Quaker Rice Cakes (I like the white cheddar cheese flavored ones, but they come in sweet flavors, too.
~BACON! One slice = One Point.
~Seven large Black Olives
~A cup of fruit like strawberries or watermelon or pineapple, etc.
~One apple.
~Also, Western Bagel ALTERNATIVE bagels are only one point per piece, but you gotta throw them in the freezer because they seem to get moldy fast.
So, there are lots of options. I know there are even more that I haven't even tried yet! What are your favorite foods and snacks that are tasty AND work with your weight loss plan?

I would definitely recommend it. To get started, you can go to a meeting and see what it's like. I'm familiar with MANY people who have joined just to lose a few pounds like you or maybe to get rid of "baby" fat, whatever. Not everyone needs to lose a whole person like I guess I do! haha
One thing I've learned is that as consumers we get easily fooled by food that we think is okay, but really isn't. One of my friends said, "when it comes to food, ignorance is bliss". A perfect example was that yesterday they had a potluck at owkr and I peeked at some mini cupcakes thinking, "it's so small, can't be more than 2 points". WRONG. for about a 2"square cupcake, it was 340 calories & 15 grams of fat! As mucha s in a WHOLE Lean Cuisine frozen lunch! Is that crazy or what?
It sounds like your usual snacks are healthy choices, though. Everyone responds to different programs, so you'll have to explore whats out there to find out what you think you would like, but personally I have found Weight Watchers an excellent program that promotes lifelong healthy eating. I've also been pretty successful so far!
Lisa, I have heard about the fudgsicles, but I forgot. I think I might need to have some of those for when I get the rare chocolate urge!
I am doing WW as well. I recently got back on program.
Wow Margaret! I want to be just like you! 75 pounds! That is fantastic, congrats! I love the program, too. I don't know if I could do the core program. I like being able to eat pretty much what I want to! Either way, it works, right!?!
