The reason I bring this is up is because I just broke up with my girlfriend of 5 years and I had already imagined how it would have been to have grown old with this woman, my sweet Elena. Little did I know what a fickle and cruel woman Destiny can be? I guess we all have some incident in our past that we lock up in a dark corner in our soul; some happening that changed our life. We make plans and reach for dreams without being aware of the strings being pulled and cut by the hands of Fate and her sisters. I find myself with feelings of regret and anger at myself for being overwhelmed with the sensation of being less than I used to be. Can a man be truly a man if he succumbs to the temptations that come with love lost? I will now revert to that which I was before this precious soul entered my world and forced me open my eyes to the beauty beyond my limited universe. But for now I look to destiny and hope she takes pity on this man who’s future she holds.

One of my favorite poems, if not my favorite, has a line that goes “El tren del destino nos lleva a la muerte sin saber como, cuando or porque”. Loosely translated it means “The train of destiny takes us to our death without knowing how, when or why”.

I am a hopeless romantic...or is it a romantic hopeful....so perhaps you guys needed some time apart until you realize how much you miss each other. I know how much heart ache hurts...would never wish that on any human being.
Hang in there, friend.
