Earlier today I wrote and published an article about Flat Randy at the Springfield Il races. I received a number of comments on it and then the article title and all disappeared from Gather. All that emains are my pictures and the comments.
Has anyone else had this experience? I wrote to Gather and asked them to look into it, however the last two inquiries I have made of their support team have not been answered.
I searched my hard drive because I was getting nothing from Gather. Here is the link.:

This happens quite often. In fact, I think that I see at least two or three of these each day on Gather. I am not entirely certain what causes it, as even breathing heavily while publishing can bring about a plethora of unpredictable results.
However, I have found that closing any other browser windows or tabs that are open to Gather does seem to increase the publishing success rate.
I would suggest editing your article again, and adding in what was lost. It should retain the original comments.
Good Luck!
Sorry, I forgot it is your readers that breathe heavily when reading the adventures of Flat Randy! ;-)
As for resolving the problem, I don't think Gather will restore the article for you. When, and if, they get back to you, they will most likely instruct you to edit your article and attempt to correct it yourself (I hope you originally created the article in Word, or Wordpad!).
about Memories of My Childhood and it never got posted. I went back to retrieve
it there wasn't anything there. Go figure. I didn't know waht to do about it, so I let it go.
In regards to an article disappearing, there are only three reasons
that
may cause this to happen:
--The article was republished to a private group with restricted
readership or "Just to Me"
--The article was removed from Gather due to a flag report submitted by
another member
--The article was deleted by either the author or Gather editorial (in
the event of a TOS violation)
I know none of these apply so I have written back and hope the article will be found. At least now I know someone is doing something about it.
I will give you a 10 and hope you get the Flat Randy article back up. Good luck.
