I had a horrific month after suffering some severe complications from my ovarian surgery. I'm back - finally! - and ready to Gather!
I'll be posting a long story about my crazy month of pain today in my new Nature and Nurture column, and will start wading through my Gather mails and connections' articles. After today, my column will continue on its weekly schedule with a story next Monday about a survival training camp I took with my boys.
Thanks for all the kind wishes, prayers, good intentions, loving emails and Gather mails. I love each of you and am so glad to be back.
While I finish editing my story and preparing the photos (eeek!), please enjoy these photos of my boys and their bunnies and a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle they tackled while I was ill.
xo!
Birdie
PS I plan on entering the Gather First Chapters contest before the Thursday deadline, so I'll be removing some of my Avon Lady adventures from my archive here in preparation.

Bring it on B!
Ain't that just too too sad????
No, but seriously, I have been wondering if you were OK and I am so very sorry for your suffering, but glad you're on the road to recovery or nirvana or whatever road you're on. Welcome back, and immeasurable quantities of love all sent your way!
Stay well and start writing... you've been missed, a LOT!
.
I am very happy that you have returned to us!
Thanks for all the kind welcome back notes. It means so much to me. I am still slow and tired, but I am gaining my strength day by day. I hope to post my column tomorrow, I apologize for my delinquency. Much love to all!
Submission did not meet word count guidelines -- chapters must be between 2,000-10,000 words each.
My chapters are each just under 2,000 words, so I understand this ruling. My novel is 85,000 words, though, and I feel it is my best work to date. I'm extremely disappointed, but rules are rules. Good luck to all competitors, and I will search for another publishing route for my manuscript.
=)
But I'm disappointed that your manuscript was rejected as I was really looking forward to reading the chapters! You have a lot of talent and I hope that you will find a way to get your manuscript published.
