sturdy grape vines for you. My Aunt had lovely concord grape vines, even in this
Northeast state, with all the cold, and freezing rains, they always flourished when growing season came around. Good luck to you!
I actually live about 25 minutes or so up the road off of 495 from Concord... :) I was just at Hanscom today.
:)
I planted four varieties at my folks when I was living there and all but one is doing well. The only thing I can't remember is which one is which, but there was a concord in there, somewhere. Do you make your own wine?
Ron, I live so close to Napa and/or Sonoma I could even walk, if I chose, to buy it directly from the myriad expert vintners in the region. Of course, that is unnecessary, since almost all the stores have wide, extensive varieties of the finest wines, not to mention the fact I rarely drink more than a bottle or two per month any more, usually of the cabernet sauvignon or merlot varieties. On top of that, wine made from Concords seems to me to be a waste, for that magnificent flavour is lost in the winemaking and aging process. No, I just consider each grape a delight for the tastebuds just the way they come.
I've never been in Phoenix, but imagine it gets quite hot. About all I know is from stories from when my mother attended University of Arizona back about the time of WWII, sharing an apartment with a bunch of girls, living on peanut butter sandwiches. Why to things have a hard time growing? Too hot?
Well I have decided to go through every one of your artciles and images and I will let you know if they belong in which group with a statement at the end of this comment...
