I did the one thing that I said I would Never and I mean NEVER do! I put on a pair of cowgirl boots (fat baby's) and a cowgirl hat and went out in public.
I told my hubby when I moved back down here with him, that he was never gonna get me in cowgirl boots and a hat cause I'm a city girl. I had changed him, I converted him from a country boy to a city boy. I was doing so good for the past 5 years.
He made the excuse to buy me the boots that it was western day at work and I needed a hat and cowgirl boots so that I could be a good example to the kids. Of course, I could have just thrown a bandana around my neck like most of the teachers did and be done with it, but no he insisted.
He went out to tractor supply, bought me the fat baby's and headed over to Walmart to buy me a hat.
My first reaction was I look hideous but after a while I kinda got used to it.
Not only did he get to see me in the boots and the hat for Western day at work on thursday, he got me to dress up for Western day at my daughters school on Friday since I was helping out.
My daughter got the biggest kick out of us cause she had on pink cowgirl boots, a pink hat, and a pink bandana. Mom had on a brown western shirt, tan boots, and a hat. Of course, daddy had to dress up too (without the hat since he doesn't own one.) My daughter absolutely loved it.
I guess I should learn my lesson in never saying never cause when I do it always comes to pass.

I always told my kids that I had raised them and not to expect Grandma to raise their kids 'cuz I wasn't raising anymore kidderlings and now my youngest grandchild is 6 and I'm the one expecting in July.
Did you get used to it enough to do it again?
Debra ~ Oh my word, good luck raising this one.
Well I do wear the bandanas and I even wear the two harley t-shirts he bought me for Christmas......of course, my kids die laughing, but hey what are moms for if we are not here to amuze our children and embarass the hell out of em in public?? LOLL
P.S. The Phat Baby's are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.........and I've been guilty of wearing them with just about everything! Since I live in Hickville it TRULY doesn't matter, but despite that my boys were horrifically moritified the other day when I wore a pair of them with my shorts into the grocery store!!!! LMAO ROF
I think once those boots get broke in they might be comfy but for now, they are killing my feet.
