Today, we celebrate Pi-Day. Tomorrow, we beware the ides of March. This Saturday, of course is St. Patrick's day. So hopefully the Luck 'O the Irish will be in full effect all week. And with that, on to the plugs!

Master Plan - Game designer Ryan Macklin's monthly podcast on game design, focusing on "indy-style" roleplaying games. He has a new podcast online featuring an interview with Chad Underkoffler of Atomic Sock Monkey. You can also read Ryan's Master Plan Web Column and his reviews. Ryan also wrote twelve stories for The Edge of Propinquity during its first year. You can read his series, Hidden City, here. More on a charity project from Ryan below.
Postcards From Hell - Here's a clever idea. Subscribe and get thirteen horror flash-fiction pieces mailed to you on postcards for the thirteen weeks leading up to Halloween 2007. Only $6.66 to subscribe! (Email version available for half that price). This is a project of writer Jeff Crook. The project is also a paying market ($50 for a 500-word piece) that is open to submissions.

The Lady of Shalott - A short film adaption of Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shalott," in a modern setting, featuring the music of Fusion Fable. By Phantom Media, in cooperation with Housebit Players and Fusion Fable. Co-Produced by Katrina Joyner, who operates Angelic Press and publishes Kinships Magazine.
Upcoming Events
All this month is Small Press Month.Â
I will have a table at the Boston Zine Fair on March 24-25 in Boston MA. The 25th is also the New England Area Gather'ing' in Salem MA, which I'm considering attending if I can make it up there after the zine fair in time.
Our next event after that will be the Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus OH on April 21.Â
March 31 is the deadline for submissions to the new issue of Misty O'Brien's zine, It Takes All Kinds. Submission guidelines are available at Brave Girl Studios.
May 5th is Free Comic Book Day. It's also Free Zine Day. We are currently planning on distributing some freebies at Gateway Comics in Wareham MA. We may have a presence at some other stores in our area as well.
We'll be heading back out to Columbus for Origins in July, where we will be volunteering for the convention.
We're also tentatively looking at attending Pi-Con in West Springfield MA in August.
Good Causes
Finis: A Book of Endings to Give People New Beginnings: This is a project that Ryan Macklin is putting together to raise money for Red Cross hurricane relief. The book is a collection of endings done in the style of the old Choose Your Own Adventure books. I'm one of the authors who was chosen to contribute. You can get an update here, and I will post more on this when an official release date is announced.
Goodsearch - A search engine that donates 50% of its revenue to charities and schools designated by its users. You may choose the charity you are contributing to when you initiate your search. My friend Katie is making a special appeal for users of Goodsearch to suport Turning Point of Lehigh Valley (Allentown, PA), a domestic violence agency in her home town.
Rilo Kiley Charity Auction - Fans of the band Rilo Kiley can bid on a variety of items to benefit the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund.
