This from the 1950's, because after that there were no more situation comedies or adventure stories as we knew then. I liked Gangbusters, Life with Luigi, Henry Aldrich, The Great Gildersleeve, Straight Arrow, The Loneranger, Jack Benny and on and on. Many of these shows became tv shows, but something was missing. The people looked different then they did in my imagination.
Interestingly enough, although I've listened to hundreds of radio episodes, I've never actually seen any of the television shows that evolved from any of them. But, you do develop an idea of how the people look. I could see how it would be distracting if they didn't quite match up in real life.
