Hallo Jo H.! Greetings from the Black Forest town of Freiburg. I'd like to thank you very much for your well-thought out comments and praise. It's great to know that out there in the www there's person who has been moved by an article that this ink-jerker has scribbled. I was raised up in a British boarding school in the foothills of the Himalayas and had a corny view about the Native Americans, influenced naturally by the Tm Mix, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, Watt Earp and other gun-slingers, and later Zane Grey westerns, which said nothing about the sentiments and feelings and the plight of the Native Americans. It was always cowboys taking pot shots at Injuns. Whities against redskins. It was years later that I got interested in American's Native Sons, their families, their traditions, customs and how they suffered in history and reservations. It's one of the saddest and hardbreaking stories in the world. But time may heal and let's ream optimistic about the future of Native Americans. The main thing is to support and give them a helping hand through educational opportunities (University grants, scholarships, stipends, writers' workshops etc.) for education is the most important factor in developing character, integrity and creativity in the society. Is enough being done? That is the question. US Americans should be proud of the Native Americans, because they have their respective cultures and traditions, which have to be preserved for future generations, lest they decay and be forgotten. Hallo Myshelle. greetings from the Schwarzwald and I appreciate your precious comments. Have a nice day. Is it so sunny out where you live. We've had a freaky winter, as though St. Petrus cound't decide which weather to send down. He sent us a Spring, interspersed with Winter, then almost summer. The sun is laughing, as we say in Germany. But for how long? The weather frogs in TV said winter would be coming soon. Perhaps this weekend? I was in Basle yesterday, and it was so pleasant sitting around and talking in the sun.
