March is very much in like a lion here on the Cape as we've currently got a wind chill factor of 2 degrees outside. We're gonna brave the cold and head out to Borders in Hyannis MA for our weekly writing/drawing session tonight. Still just 3 of us tonight. Lori and Lynette both cancelled at the last minute.
Last Week's Goals: Write mailing comments for Phoenix APA, work on reformatting my Boskone report, locate a good quote to start my latest story for The Edge of Propinquity off with, read and review one or two comics or possibly a manga book.
Last Week's Results: There ended up being a lot of distractions at the store last week (some drama between customers, not specifically involving us, but distracting nonetheless). I got the mailing comments done, didn't even touch the Boskone report, and wrote a little bit on my story. I did locate a quote, but only read half of one comic (which I ended up buying; I finished reading it and reviewed it a couple of days later). I then proceeded to not finish my story and I'm now one day behind the deadline.
This Week's Goals: Finish story. If possible, get a quick round of critique/editing from Gynn and Miranda. Anything beyond that is window dressing tonight.
Question of the week: Do you do better or worse work when under deadline pressure?
Generally for me, I do better work under deadline pressure, although I sometimes get some writers' block if I haven't given sufficient thought to the piece leading up to me actually sitting down to write it.
Please feel free to join in the writing tonight. Comment with what you're working on or your goals, or give your answer to the question of the week. And do some good writing (hopefully on deadline!).
