....to think very, very carefully before ever assigning student seminars in any class I teach!

Oy, oy, oy! Some of these just hurt!

I am sitting through one right now - I think my ears would be bleeding if I could hear what the presenter is saying - his powerpoint slides are abysmal!  about 50 lines of text/slide, black on white, no images (obviously - couldn't fit them in around all that horrible text)

I feel very sorry for my fellow students - at least I have a laptop!

Yikes! I have to take a seminar, but I am uncertain what's happening here, Flit. Are you saying a student is giving a seminar presentation? And you can't hear him, but you can see his wretched powerpoint presentation? Are you taking the class on-line?

he just has NO voice projection. No expression. No personality.

I pay to LEARN... not to sit and try to read illegible slides and strain to hear someone that doesn't project enough to be heard even two rows from the front.

$500/course is a lot of money

Sorry Flit. I must have misunderstood. I thought you were criticising another classmate whose turn it was to do a presentation for we all should be given a fair shot when it is our turn. I didn't realize it was the professor. I pay $2,280 a course so I know what you mean.
Remember that old Taco Bell commercial where the lights dim, the droner starts droning, and everyone leaves the room undetected. That's the image that flashed in my mind at your post.

Hey, you can always use the F word to liven things up.
