Big Monkey and My Mom-Florida-1958

Hello to all,

Interesting picture I came across in an old photo album. The lady in the sunglasses is my mother, Doris, with my Aunt June. Can anyone out there tell me the who, what, where and why of the big monkey? Okay, chances are it's an ape, maybe King Kong, but that wouldn't have sounded as good with Mom.

It was taken in Florida (probably near Orlando) in 1958.

So do I. I now have nearly three dozen photo albums to go through. It is strange seeing me in places and situations I have no memory of. More to come.

great pic, Wayne. I love those old roadside photos of people standing next to these wacky type of monuments. Interesting to see if anyone remembers your Monkey!
