Plot Outline:Based on the true story, FBI upstart Eric O'Neill enters into a power game with his boss, Robert Hanssen, an agent who was ultimately convicted of selling secrets to the Soviet Union.
I saw this movie last night and was mildly disappointed. I was expecting an action pact thriller and found that the movie was slow moving. I was intrigued however, by the true story behind this movie. It certainly made me wonder what makes a person do something so horrible. I thought that Chris Cooper did a wonderful job portraying Robert Hanssen. The whole movie, I kept thinking about how creepy he was. He is a very convincing actor. Ryan Phillippe who played Eric O'Neill was someone I had never seen before. I thought that he was a little green for the role, and I did not think that his performance was as good as Chris Cooper's.
Overall, I recommend this movie, perhaps more as a rental than to see in the theater.
