We got a winter storm today. It was not as bad as the weather predicted. On our Island it is not as bad as the rest of the province got at all http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20070301/ontario_storm_060302/20070302?hub=TopStories
It was pretty nasty while it lasted. That wind was cold and very strong. I decided to take some pictures .First I looked out my window and decided that a picture of my yard wouldn’t do , since I would be getting the same view , as I have gotten for the past 3 winters, so wanted to change that . My husband agreed to drive me, good thing he did I wouldn’t have wanted to be out in it. In fact I would have been in a bit of trouble I had I done so.
1. A view of the surf from the balcony of a summer home

2 .zooming in a bit

3. Looking straight off the balcony
4. The visability on the road
5.Beatiful old house on the beach . It belongs to the Giffen family , they go to our church. ( I mention that because for the first year I was here I kept wondering which rich American owned such a lovely summer home.I had a good laugh when I realized I knew the owners and they were locals.)
6.the beach out front of the house.
7.
Zooming in for a closer look
8.The snow was so stinging and the wind was so strong I snapped this one from inside the car. It the view of the beach from the side of the house. They can walk down their beach about 1/4 of a mile or more.

9.Hubby had to back down the hill , he got stuck in the snow for a few minutes

10. Ah, he makes it this time .
11. I love the row of trees in the yard ( you can see the garage/workshop from the side.
....12. Down at Stanley Beach, It was so windy and so bitter cold I just snapped a picture of the waterslide

13. Ron got inside the little house on the slide and was able to get a shot of the beach, you can barely see the rope that has an anchor to make sure the water slide doesn't get washed away. And of course the visibility doesn't let you see much of the surf either . I was hoping to catch some higher waves .
