On March 17th, to counter the Anti-War Rally in January, several vets groups will be in Washington to guard The Wall and hold a rally to support the troops.
One attendee-to-be, former Army Sergeant Artie Muller, executive director of Rolling Thunder, says anti-war activists fail to understand that if terrorism is not confronted in Iraq, more of it will be seen in the U.S. "The last time those people were down there, they sprayed all kinds of graffiti on the Capitol steps and they hung protest items on a Navy war memorial -- and things like that, as far as we're concerned, don't cut it,."
Rolling Thunder will be in attendance and they vow that there will be no destructive acts during their rally - unlike what occurred during the protest march.
Muller further says:
"When I was in Vietnam, one of my friends and I … caught a [North Vietnamese Army] officer," he shares. "In his backpack he had a package with some medical supplies …." That package, says Muller, still bore markings indicating it had been sent to Hanoi from the University of California, Berkeley area -- a hotbed of anti-war, anti-American protests during the Vietnam War era.
"Medical supplies [had been sent from America] to our enemy, the people that we [were] fighting against," Muller summarizes. He then implies that such efforts were legitimized by the action of anti-war activist Jane Fonda, who he believes should have been "tried, convicted, and hung 35 years ago for what she did."
And in further reference to anti-war activities of celebrity status, Muller adds: "All the movie stars in Hollywood would not have the money they do, if it were not for the veterans of this country."
I wish these veterans health, safety and Godspeed as they travel to Washington and make their views known. I can't be there in person but I will be in spirit.

Someone is a bit touchy this evening...here is a drive-by 10
And I with you.
DARCEY D.- -LOVE your post!
Rob Appel - Agreed. If I were CIC in 2003, we wouldn't be there. But we are. These vets WILL NOT be treated like the Viet vets were!
And another drive-by 10.
I just hope they get support from the Washington Police and are not stopped by them, because the politics don't stop with the government in Washington. I too wish that I could lend more then moral support and my prayers to this cause.
Thank you so very much for this article!
Why do people feel the need to vandalize sacred places anyway? Can't they get their message accross without that?
I completely agree that the troops deserve respect and support, regardless of one's feelings on the war.
