you arrive in disguise,
no longer vague,
your nakedness lost in
a sweep of black.
your honesty rips me
out of my head
and when i snap back,
if I could breathe,
i would scream your name.
i want to curl up in your mind
feel everything you feel,
see through your smoke haze eyes,
smell your wanderlust.
i want to lay my palm against your heart
and feel it strain against
bone, skin, air, life.
i want to sit across from you on a cold floor
and tell my stories until the sun darkens
and silence engulfs us.
i want to see you on the other side,
walking toward me with arms open
ready to envelope me
in the curve of your body.
i want to be there now.
