we dont argue often but when we do all hell breaks loose! on this particular evening all of the signs of a potential blow out were there. he slammed the car door, back door and his keys on the counter. he then proceeded to take his bad day out on the cat, fridge door and me. nothing i had done that day was up to his standards not to mention the things i had failed to do. the dry cleaning was still here but that last slice of pie he was saving for dessert was gone. the television volume was turned up too high and the heat was turned down too low. the mailbox was full of bills and his pockets were empty. had i really talked to my cousin, long distance, for over an hour? the kitchen sink was full. and so was the laundry basket, kitty litter box and microwave. leftovers again? after he ranted and threw things around for 20 minutes i had had enough. i know he loves me and that this madness was the result of a bad day at the office but im a good wife and mother and didnt deserve this. not this day. i wanted this whole episode to end but without adding any more fuel to the fire so i had to choose my words carefully. as he continued to insult my ability to keep house, telling me how pissed he was, i took a deep breath, looked him straight in the eyes and said,
"does this mean we're not having sex later?!"
he looked at me, closed his mouth and walked away.
