Well, February went by quick, as it is wont to do. Here we stand at the last day of the shortest month, and we're looking at a very busy March as we try to put the finishing touches on a comic project in time for an April release date. Meanwhile, my contract got renewed at my day job, and my various writing projects continue to move along slowly but steadily.
This Week's Plugs
Green Corner - This is the website of webcomic artist and graphic designer Emily Gonsalves. Her comics tell the tale of the elven students at the magical Yousei Academy.
CAG - The Comic Book Artists' Guild has chapters in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, California, Nebraska, and South Carolina. The latest issue of their comic anthology, the CAG Annual #5, is now available. Both Gynn and I are members of CAG, and our work has appeared in some of their past anthologies.
Phoenix - I recently joined this long-running APA dedicated to pop culture and SF/fantasy/comics/whatever fandom. Phoenix has been around for over 165 issues, part of a longstanding tradition in fandom. Phoenix currrently hosts my zine, Caravan.
The Kentucky Mountain Girl News - This is the blog of writer Henrietta Asher Handy. She journals about mountain life and her writing, and reviews books. You can also find her as Mountainlaurel on Livejournal.
The Zorcerer of Zo - For the gamers out there, here's a roleplaying game of fairy tales by Chad Underkoffler. Tailors face giants, enchanted queens dance with human peasants, talking creatures perform domestic duties, witches cast curses and fairies grant blessings. And all are seeking their Happily Ever After. It's published by Atomic Sock Monkey. Chad is also the author of an excellent superhero roleplaying game, Truth & Justice.
Upcoming Events
Gynn and I will have tables at the Boston Zine Fair on March 24-25 in Boston MA and at the Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus OH on April 21. We'll be heading back out to Columbus for Origins in July. We're also tentatively looking at attending Pi-Con in West Springfield MA in August.
Plugs for My Stuff
My website, with my comics, my zine, and calendar/links pages, is Dandelion Studios. I write fiction for The Edge of Propinquity. I write comic book reviews for Comic Widows. You can also check out my Comicspace page and my Livejournal. As mentioned above, I have a group here on Gather called Geek Travel.
For the gamers out there, I sell Magic: The Gathering cards on Cardshark. My seller ID is rsilva. You can find my inventory here.
