Before and After: fun with pictures

My best friend has a son named Matteo and I just wanted to show you something fun that I did with one of his pictures, to post to my "Before and After" group at http://beforeandafter.gather.com.  

This is Matteo - the "Before" picture. My best friend gave him this haircut just for fun, since he had been asking her to do it for him. reminds of that fence that Tom Sawyer ( or was it Huck Finn) had to paint ! Of course they just go to use plain old white wash !

To answer, real quick, the questions about what program I used to do this picture before I go to bed: I actually just used the "paint" program that came with my computer. It's the Microsoft Paint, version 5.1 and I just used the "fill" tool and filled it with some wild colors after turning the picture to black and white. I have some pictures of myself and some of my oldest son that I did the same thing to.

I'll be back tomorrow with more responses to everyone here, as well as sending everyone a comment back to your own articles or images... so stay tuned! I need to get some sleep.

That is really fun. I might try that for the kids' photo album. They have a couple of the little cheap albums I print photos just for them every few months and just cycle some of the old ones out for current ones of them and family members. Maybe if they were this colorful they might hold their interest for longer and I won't have to update so often.

Thanks Laurie! I did have fun with it... I'm always messing around with things like this, out of boredom. My friend thought it was pretty funny that I sent the picture back to her looking like that!

Thank you for the compliment on my group, Kevin. I really wanted to create groups that were different than others, and since I don't really have any hobbies... I just made groups that I thought would be fun for people and give them a reason to show off their accomplishments. Now that I have this Before and After group, I'm always looking for reasons to take pictures of everything. Then maybe if I actually do something with it, or change it in any way... I can take another picture and there you go - an instant article to share with my Gather friends! I appreciate the compliments on the picture too, and yes... it is interesting that I could get that effect with only MS Paint. I have a few others that I'll post too pretty soon. Thanks again!
