Happy Ash Wednesday!
While Mardi Gras was being celebrated in New Orleans and other locations, Gynn and I were enjoying a vacation in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, following a weekend at the Boskone Convention in Boston. It was a great trip. I've already posted a report on the convention to my new Gather group, Geek Travel. I will be posting photos and a report on our wanderings in New Hampshire tomorrow.
This Week's Plugs
Sarah Bowman - An exceptionally talented artist who will be working with me on a project that I'm not quite able to discuss yet. In the meatime, go look at her Deviantart site and her Comicspace page.
Megan Miller - We met Megan at a convention in New Hampshire a couple of years ago. Megan writes and draws comics about her experiences with Asperger's Syndrome.
Culturegeek - Culturegeek is the pop culture blog of the Bellville News-Democrat of Bellville IL. It is written by novelist Elizabeth Donald. She is the author of Nocturne and Setting Suns
.
Jenn Reese - Jenn is a fabulous writer, a martial arts enthusiast, and a good friend of mine going back to college. She has a novel out called Jade Tiger. She also just had a story, "Chimaeras", published in Lone Star Stories. You can read it here.
Gay Flash Fiction - This new online magazine of GBLT-themed and GBLT-friendly short fiction is co edited by my friend over in the UK, Liz Nicholson. You can also read her Livejournal and her fanfic blog.
Applebrook Bed & Breakfast - Last but not least this week is the wonderful vacation spot in Jefferson NH where we spent the last couple of days. With beautiful views of Mount Washington, Applebrook was relaxing, hospitable, and cozy. The innkeepers, Joy and Tom McCorkhill, served up delicious breakfasts and homemade chocolate chip cookies. The place is spotlessly clean, furnished with loving care, and even provides wireless internet access. Applebrook is a great place to get away from it all.
Upcoming Events
Gynn and I will have tables at the Boston Zine Fair on March 24-25 in Boston MA and at the Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus OH on April 21. We'll be heading back out to Columbus for Origins in July. We're also tentatively looking at attending Pi-Con in West Springfield MA in August.
Plugs for My Stuff
My website is Dandelion Studios. I write fiction for The Edge of Propinquity (and a new story was uploaded there last week!). I write comic book reviews for Comic Widows. You can also check out my Comicspace page and my Livejournal. As mentioned above, I have a new group here on Gather called Geek Travel.
