Not Sure Why...

 Where have all the comments gone...

 

            Over the past week or so I have written 2 articles and received 3 comments... none on the latest. Now not sure what the symptom is, even my close contacts did not comment.  Now I did NOT e-mail everyone on my contact list (I have 227 contacts) saying please stop by. But should I, most have said they do not like Mass e-mails... but so what is happening? 

 

            Sniff Sniff, do I stink?

                        Ok then maybe, I am just annoying... yup possible.

 

            Nevertheless, over all, I have seen Gather comments not being given often now...

 

Is it the new system?  Are people being redirected to the new essentials so that they no longer see their contacts articles now?

 

What do you think?  Of course if it is me then no-one will comment... I mean I haven't even received bad comments or argumentative comments...

 

Let me know...  It is getting lonely out here without even crickets...

I think it is that Gather is so buggy and unco-operative that it is getting to be a royal pain to use!

Suppose you could try having a shower and see if that helps too though :)

I haven't been commenting as much as usually but my current class at school is really kicking my butt so I haven't had as much time.

But I have noticed the same. It seems as though comments everywhere are less in quantity.

I am a new connection so here I am. Did you change deodorants recently? My ratings bar has vanished on the 2 lastest things I posted. It could be a glitch because I have tried to post and do things like check an article for approval on a moderated group and then it didn't do anything. Long sentence pant-pant

don't ask ur contacts to come and comment. if u are a good writer they will come. don't bring urself down..keep writing.

I thought the fact that comments had begun to lag was because I hadn't been on gather much....now I see you are noticing it as well. I suspect it may be because gather is still so slow. I know the powers that be are trying to rectify the problem but the slowness of the site is frustrating the regulars here and causing what I believe to be many to give up in frustration....that and the fact that the rewards were changed and many do not like the changes. I find myself wondering if gather is going the self same road that a site much like this (JB) did mere months before.

....thanks too Emmett for checking in on me. I'm holding up and not giving up until I have to...... I don't want to lose my friend and am hoping He will see how important my friend is to so many people. thanks for your prayers......I know they are there and I feel them!
i have run out of patience waiting for gather to download lately. it takes so long. As far as comments go recently, my last article only got one and I am starting to feel lonely aslo. I try to critique as many as I can during my short time on gather. I hope this is just a glitch, because I start to think that maybe, just maybe, my writing is not worth reading.
Let's hope it improves as I do enjoy Gather.

This has been going on for some time now in my little area of Gather. I don't usually get more than ten comments on anything of any substance. Not, I guess, that I ever HAVE anything of substance. And I have had to download a complete other search engine to be able to post. Gather also runs so slow I just get tired of messing with it and give up. Guess that's just some factors.

Although I guess it could be me. It's still a couple of weeks till my bi-annual shower. Can't waste water, ya know!
There is a frustration as pages take forever to load during certain parts of the day. Lunchtime is notorious for that. I just give up and try later. I've never been to your space before so here I am.... Outta the blue, just to connect with you.

I have had problems in the past with there being no comments bar as well . Dont know about the rest but I have been slacking on some of the gather sites. Sorry, Emmett

I know that I find the Gather essentials much more often and quickly than the like with regard to my contacts. I would like to read what my contacts have witten more often, yes, though I don't always remember that they are there. I do remember that I have contacts, but the lack of connectedness is serious; though I was not a member long before the Gather essentials'-focused?' format arrived, I think I would have enjoyed seeing my contacts' recent articles when I logged in. Yey, writing!

I have lots of articles and poems on Gather that have never been read or commented on. I don't find the speed slow at all. Maybe because I'm usually on late at night. When someone that is in a "group" that I belong to, I am sent a notice and I click onto it and read. Or if a "friend" tells me about someone's article, I read it. I don't join EVERY group....only those that interest me. Maybe you have spread yourself too thin. Just a thought.
