I NEVER THOUGHT ATTAINING SUCCESS COULD BE THIS EASY
Just as I was beginning to think that my efforts in composing what I have felt were good articles to share with my fellow Gatherers was approaching futile comes a revelation of potentially life defining importance.
Before I let you in on what may be the most important revelation of this century more context is called for.
When I write an article to be posted for Gather I naturally enjoy many others reading and commenting. It would be hard to believe that any other Gatherer would not share my expectation. However I am also realistic. Not everyone is going to be attracted to the same titles. This means there will be over time a distribution of interest ranging from none at all to a large amount of readers. So be it.
On the other had I have recently noted that article I have written that I would have expected to attract a wide readership (let's say 20 plus) have actually resulted in less than 5. So be this too. You win some, you lose some. No accounting for taste. But still has persisted the thought that if there was a way to greatly increase a steady readership that would suit me just fine.
In trying to figure out what it is that attracts people to one another's articles I would have thought that the answer is obvious. People are attracted or not to the specific content as conveyed by the specific words in the titles of the articles. So if this principle is true then the key to success is to always find those just right words to capture the interest of a broad group of potential readers.
No great revelation is it. The trouble is that I think I am doing it every time I post an article. Still - despite what I think - my magic often fails to do the 'trick'.
Thus it is in this pressing need for something more to be added to the attraction formula that the following 'secret' has come to be as a lightning bolt. The secret is out! Maureen Dowd - an editorial writer for the New York Times has revealed it to the thus far unelightened like me.
Her article is called: A GIANT DOOM MAGNET. She starts: " So I was sitting arround watching "Oprah" yesterday afternoon when I realized how I could stop W. and Crazy Dick from blowing up any more stuff. All I needed to do was Unleash my Unfathonable Magnetic Power into the Universe!
She goes on: "Energy flows where intention goes. Or maybe its the other way around. Anyhow, Oprah taught me how to stop abusing myself and learn The Secret. I finally get it: because the Law of Attraction dictates that like attracts like, my negativity toward the president and vice president is attracting their negativity and multiplying the negative vibrations in the cosmos, creating some sort of giant doom magnet."
Dowd goes on to discuss the content of a best seller sweeping the counrty called: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, a an Australian reality TV producer. "We create our own circumstances by the choices that we make, and the choices we make are fueld by our thoughts," Oprah explained in her first show. So our thoughts are the most powerful thing that we have here on earth. And based upon what we think - and [what] we think determines who we are - we attract who we are into our lives."
VOILA!
So Rudolf Stiener, Annie Besant, and the rest of the Theosophists have been right after all. All I have had to do to attract the kind of readership numbers here on Typepad is to create and send out into the ether the most appropriate 'thought forms" I can create.
All I have to do is project my strong intentions for great numbers of readers and commentators to get with my program - tune me in on your psychic radio station - attune yourself to my positive vibrations.
So now that the Secret is out I can hardly wait until I finish the last few paragraphs of this article so I can sit back and watch the comments numbers rapidly and steadly increase. Who knows if this formula is the key to marketing success then I can look forward to being selected very soon as a featured article producer. And according to the hype associated with "The Secret" I think I can hardly miss out.
Isn't it strange how revelations such as the Secret can transform your life in a split second. And here I had been thinking that Spinoza's conclusion to the Ethics was really the formula for success. Spinoza says: All things worth accomplishing are as difficult as they are rare. And, expanding on Spinoza: success is a natrual by product of struggling with struggle."
Now I see that I have probably been duped. To think all I have had to do to gain the large readership I have desired was - is to just project my strong deisres into the ether - Oh well you live and you unlearn.
I would like to continue as I have much more to say about this subject but I am so excited about viewing the hoards of anticipated numbers of people who are sure to read this article that I am going to end now.
And if nothing else this will have been an interesting sociological experiment. Good lord - what if no one reads this article. For shame! I refuse to be negative. That would be self defeating. I will remain positive at all costs.
Isn't being lazily creative', working with a minumum of effort and a guarantee of predictable success fun?

Anyway, something got me here ... maybe just my 'wishful' thinking of 'good'. :-)
Maybe my next title will be the "The Secret of the Secret" ... of course I DO know what THAT IS ... but no one wants to believe it ... so in effect, it helps not.
Here's a secret that works!
Check out www.talkshoe.com - discovered it just days ago and I'm posting articles there. With almost no effort or real promotion I've earned over $60.
As a writer, I often read a finished piece out loud, to see how it sounds. Now I just log on to www.audacity.com, push the red Record button and read it into the microphone. Audacity converts it into an MP3 file and I upload to Talkshoe. Every time someone listens I earn cash!
All FREE and so easy.
I'm adding a podcast link to everything I post on Gather.
Please read and listen to the linked podcast for my "participatory" murder mystery, GATHERING TERROR, Chapter I, and leave a comment:

As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted:
Well, there MUST be something to it....seems to work because the title alone made me stop and read about the "Secret" as I was scrolling down the list of 'articles for me'.....!
Of course that's it, we haven't been wanting what we want enough.
Yes, surely this is the Key of keys . . . wish till you grunt.
How could the multitudes of truth seekers have missed this?
"Sensation precedes manifestation and is the foundation upon which all manifestation rests. Be careful of your moods and feelings, for there is an unbroken connection between your feelings and your visible world. Your body is an emotional filter and bears the unmistakable marks of your prevalent emotions. Emotional disturbances, especially suppressed emotions, are the causes of all disease. To feel intensely about a wrong without voicing or expressing that feeling, is the beginning of disease--dis-ease----in both body and environment. Do not entertain the feeling of regret or failure for frustration or detachment from your objective results in disease.
Think feelingly only of the state you desire to realize. Feeling the reality of the state sought and living and acting on that conviction is the way of all seeming miracles. All changes of expression are brought about through a change of feeling. A change of feeling is a change of destiny. All creation occurs in the domain of the subconscious"
We are on to something here. We need not do anything but watch our feelings and we can create a much better world...but sometimes we might have to just turn off the news on t.v.
