Hi all of you bird lovers out there. Some of us take photos and some of us also have an urge to draw or paint them. If you have a photo that you would care to share and you would like to help artists study and practice drawing or painting birds, please share your bird images at http://artistreference.gather.com/

In addition it would be lovely if people posted the WIP or the finished sketch, drawing, study or painting here for people to see both the reference and the results after use.

you should also send this to Feathers the only restrictions i have on my photos are no digital artists. Just taking someone photo and editing it in photo shopor other computer aided program is not a good thing unless someone sends me an email and i give the ok.
Of course, in this digital world none of us can totally control what happens with anything we post online. So it is basically up to people's decency. Finding good bird photos to study which isn't in a book (copyright naturally) or on a copyrighted site is sometimes hard. Of course a cardinal is a cardinal but even so I for one do prefer to use several photos when I can and have an approved use.
Being allowed to use somebody's photos is a favour whihc should be returned by a comment and7or a link to that persons site or photos. And as you say postedso that that person sees the result. of course sometimes one uses 20 cardinal images to study anatomy from different posiitons. Then on can not credit every one of the 20 individuals separately. I do hope people will find the reference group and that a beutiful relationship between nature lovers in photo and in painting/drawing can florish. Trine
