Spread the word….Astrology is true!!

I am compelled to tell this story because sometimes we humans can overlook the obvious.  Astrology has been with us for hundreds of years but how many of you have honestly tried it?   This is not about the horoscopes you find in your daily newspaper or fashion magazine. 

 

I stumbled onto astrology quite by accident and was like the majority of people.  I periodically read my horoscope and made jokes about the generalizations.  I was shocked when I first saw my chart.  It described my personal traits so perfectly that I knew there had to be something to it.  More investigation was in order before I could honestly give it credibility. Ironically, my sister was researching astrology at the same time.   After we purchased some astrology books of our own, we decided to put it through our own little test.  My sister was living in Arizona at the time and I was living in Ohio.  We exchanged information of friends known only to ourselves.  Birthdates and time of birth were all we had to start with and the task was to deliver an in depth description of these complete strangers.  The results were amazing! 

 

What did this prove?  To me it was proof that astrology was a type of blue print or fingerprint of our lives. Sure there are many variables in the equation and life’s many issues can change us in many ways, while some things may never change.  Some are stubborn, brave, a warrior, a rebel, while others may be timid and shy, unmotivated, or lazy.  These are the characteristics that astrology can explain.     

 

The simple horoscope deals only with twelve sun signs of the zodiac, while astrology uses many other characteristics to map out a more exact personality.  Aspects of daily transits and planetary locations paint a very detailed picture. With a date and time of birth you can discover personality traits, compatibility, path and more.  There are numerous books on the market as well as free to use sites on the web.  Please, do yourself a favor and see what astrology can do for you.  And after you’ve proven it to yourself…pass it on.

I agree. I became interested in astrology several years ago when I was only periodically reading a horoscope here and there (one always pops up on my msn home page) and occassionally they had a thread of truth to them. I too thought it deserved a closer look. I was amazed at how closely the in depth look at the science of astrology actually resembled myself and people I knew. Even if people don't "believe" in it, it's still fun to look into. I have several friends who are not "believers" of much of anything outside the proverbial box, and even they say there is more to astrology than meets the eye. The horoscopes you read in newspapers and magazines barely give credit to what astrology really is.

Good article and I suggest that more people at least look into real astrology.

Good article, Trisha. It's good for people to try other things, and seek out other truths than the ones that provide no evidence. :)

I know you have me hooked. You did the astrological chart on my children and I a few years back and it was dead on. I scared me a bit to be honest. I don't really read the newspaper horoscopes but I feel there is a lot to be said about the how the stars are aligned. They have found out in recent years that our history on this planet is much older than we thought. The Sphinx and the three Pyramids of Geza all line up to their astrological counterparts more than 10,000 years earlier than what we had believed. And they only line up together in one year. This really is huge, and if it weren't for the stars we woudn't have known this. Sorry for the tangent that I went on. By the way, are you up for another chart reading?

Trisha and Tammy.........Unless you're using the same software it would be neat to have one done by the both of you and then compare the results. As far as the dates go Trish..........good one! Let me know what you two think about it, ok? We can keep it simple and only do one, but I would like to re-read the one about Cameron (my seven yr. old that has ADHD and bipolar) and see if there are any paralells. (Please keep the spelling police off me.........haha!)

Edward, I have my own astrology program now but I used to use Astrology.com. Most of the sites are going to give you close to the same information though and should be fairly accurate as long as you are giving an accurate time of birth. May I ask your sun sign?

Very complicated is the study of astrology. Some folks don't believe that the universe affects us. Look at the tides. We are water filled beings. Oh my. I studied for years and really learned alot about my inner self through astrology. Thanks.

I totally believe in the zodiac as well.
I am a Sagittarius (Dec 20, 64) and am very much a free spirit, impatient, cannot stick with anything for much time, enjoys life...etc..
My son is 18 and a Sagittarius (Dec 21, 88) and very moody, rude, no personality, total opposite of me....what gives on this one?

I would love a path reading as well...

The internet is full of useful information about the basics of astrology. You can learn the basics just by browsing. There is now a trend among astrologers to go back to traditional astrology. As more ancient astrological text are translated from Greek, Arabic and Latin sources - 21st century astrologers are sort of re-learning astrology.
This is the best time to learn about astrology.

You can also find a free copy of William Lily's book Christian Astrology from the net.

Thanks for sharing your viewpoint Trisha. But it seems like your proof lacks a double-blind test.

To strengthen your claim, I humbly suggest you repeat your proceedure using the birthdate of a person you know but your sister does not. Only this time, include two other unreleated dates. After hearing all three readings, confirm which you feel most matches that of your friend, then see if date your sister used coincided with that person.

I also must question: do you believe that the stars & planets explain why people are the way they are? As a humanist, isn't it just a valid to believe that it is the people that determine why the stars & planets are in their respective positions?

On a completely different note: has astrology changed with the discovery of additional planets? And if so, will astrology change now that Pluto has been downgraded to a planetoid?

Susan Miller's Astrolgy Zone has been has been saved in my favorites on my computer for over four years. Her indepth monthly forecasts have been accurate in my life; more than a few times. If you get the chance to view her website, look at your previous month's forecast and see if some or all of it, doesn't ring true.

Astrology is good at hoodwinking people. It categorizes character traits and events so generally and vaguely that anyone can find meaning in it.

I like to ask people's astrological signs, then read them the horiscope under a different sign from the newspaper. Nine times out of ten, they find that the description applies really well to them, and they're incredibly surprised to learn that I read someone else's! You could give that test a try with friends and see what happens.

Astrology is not something to "believe" in. It is a system of knowledge, very complex, yet very simple. It can be a lifelong obsession. It can be a source of information to check out along with other information to make decisions or plans. Mostly, I like the insight it gives me into people's complex motivations and diverse ways of being.

I just got into astrology and am also surprised by how accurate it seems. People want complicatedness and astrology just doesn't offer that.
