Sketchbook Drawings: Coverings

Cover Me

Colored Ink Drawing in a 6 x 6 Inch Sketchbook.
These two drawings continue a Blanket Series I began ten years ago. Although the original set of drawings never went beyond the sketchbook stage I've enjoyed the way they feel in the sketchbooks.

Currently I'm considering this process, concept and imagery for an Altered Book project.

With this post, I realized that I never did anything with the Sketchbook Challenge this year. I can't believe we are already more than halfway through February. I have been out of town for a business trip for two weeks, so the month has just flown by. Anyway, maybe we'll have to do the Sketchbook Challenge another month. I love seeing your sketchbook entries!
back in my schooldays. We used paper bags to fit the book and drew designs
on them. Wish I had kept them now! I did pencil drawings for a time, then got into charcoal, which could get a little messy. I am now into painting with oils. I
have finished eight of them so far, and in all my life I never picked up a paint
brush! The art teacher saw something in me I didn't realize was there. Maybe
I have shared to much, but felt a need to share. I love the drawings that you
have done so beautifully.
for each of you who have found something inspiring in these drawings i hope you take the time to have fun playing and explore your ideas.
Robb - explore on. as human beings we have the ability to gain insight even in the abstract. i know your work and mine will have much in common as well as much that is unique to both of us. that is way cool.
Trine - i too like things that avail themselves to all easily. cool.
Shari - lots of sketchbook images await you. anytime you want to see something i am doing let me know.
Barbara - it's rare that there is enough sharing in the world. painting does not require anything other than color. play and have fun. the world is as rich as you can color it. it's even better if you color in your own ways.
Amy - thank you again. you have so much to offer i am so pleased that you enjoy looking as well. cool.
