What are you doing this Valentine's Day?

     Today outside of New York City we're being pelted with an ice storm.  The roads are ice rinks and no one is out unless they have to be. Hubby, the cats and I will cozy up in front of the fire with provisions of port, chocolate and other goodies. What could be more romantic? How about you?

Here in Philly it is 24 degrees. It is snowing again after a few hours break from he freezing rain. The streets weren't too bad and DH made it into work ok. I'm trying to stay warm. Valentine's Day is no big deal. DH gave me a nice card. We don't need a special day to remind us that we are always Valentines.

My hubby's in India, and I'm snowed in here in upstate NY. The good thing is, the school is closed for a snow day so I don't have to go to work ... I got a sweet email from him, but since he's Tibetan, Valentine's Day means nothing to him. I intend to snack on my chocolate cookies and enjoy a day of wanton computer play. I only hope this runny nose doesn't turn into a cold. Teaching little kids definitely has its downside. Anyway, the snow is very pretty blowing continually past my window like a sheet of white powder

It's sunny and clear in So Cal. Sorry to hear about the cold weather you guys are having. My wife and I don't have anything special planned for tonight, but tomorrow night we're seeing Oklahoma at the Curtain Call Theater. That'll be a fun, post-Valentine's Day celebration.

Here in southern Ontario, we are buried in snow! I am not going anywhere, which is true of most people today. Even the schools are closed. Fortunately, my daughter, husband and grandkids showed up with their snowblower (they live around the corner), so at least I could have some access from the house. As for Valentines Day, it is just another day for me. No love interests and no one on the horizon, I'm afraid.

My wife and I are going to have incredible... ooops wait. (smile) I got her a card and chocolates. She isn't a big flower gal. We are going to dinner this Saturday night however. I'm on the computer while my husband is working on his race car. He took me to lunch at the sonic. It was that or a chocolate heart and I dont like chocolate. so i picked lunch. It was nice.

I got a surprise day off from the library yesterday, thanks all our lovely snowing-sleeting-chilling; and today was my regular day off - so I curled up with-----a good book! My valentine for now is a combination of beautiful snow-covered backyard plus lovely fire in the woodstove plus that good book, whatever the latest thrift-store/used book store "find" is.

Also, I am up here in Massachusetts as well... And we are in the midst of the lovely Ice Storm, that resulted my class today (Aerobics at college) being cancelled and my mom got to come home early.. And our nice neighbor snow blowed our driveway... :)

I am just trying to stay warm. In northeast Ohio, we have so much snow. My hubby is at work until 6pm. Yuk...

I can't wait until they have school again! And I have to go pay bills, but, they have parking bans everywhere! I think I'll call them and tell them to stuff it, unti tomorrow, when I can park...lol

I just played Princess monopoly with my daughter. And, Disney Scrabble and Adventures in Neopia (board games) with my son.

I think I'll go help my kids build a snowman if I can find my boots.

When hubby gets home, we'll probably watch a movie, have a nice dinner. Most eerything has been closed around here.....so...not much choice.

Well the wife and I were snowed in and had the day off. Well sorta. I had to study for certifications for work. Then clean the drive way out
Well in TX there ain't no ice nor snow. It be cold though at 34. Enjoy that Port and Chocolate. Ohhh, and the hubby too.

Happy Valentine's Day, Layla! I hope you and your hubby have a wonderful evening! My hubby and I don't really do Vday anymore... I know that sounds bad, and it's not because we don't love each other tremendously - it's just that we're living on one income and we really don't "need" any romantic gifts. Hahaha - our love is enough for us!!! Gosh, that really sounded corny. Anyhoo - right now he's in school because he's in an apprenticeship program, so I'm at home with one child in bed, one watching tv and the baby on my lap! Hubby will get home in awhile, then I'll try to talk him into staying up late with me to watch LOST, but he won't... and he'll fall asleep at about 10:00. Romantic, huh????

My man friend (as Martha Stewart refers to THE man in her life).I ask him if we could make Valentine Day again for tomorrow --he granted my wish,. So, everyone we have another day to be joyful, remembering the ones we love and most of all to be grateful for another day!!

Well, sorry, I'm a day late. It is 4:30am on the 15th before I got to answer my emails. That is because I just started a new job for the first time in EIGHT years where I have to stand on my feet for eight and a half hours with one thirty minute break. Yes, I need to whine this morning because I sore from head to toe. I am out of shape and too fat for this. Going to take me a while to get use to it. So, after I came home I did a few chores a fell asleep early. I figured better to comment late as compared to never. Sounds like you had a great valentine's day. I'm happy for you. I had no one to share it with so I might as well been out earning a FEW bucks. And I do mean a few. Haha.

Here in upstate New York, we got a good two feet of snow from the same storm, not that the weather was going to affect my Valentine's Day. The day before, I wasn't looking forward to "the most romantic day of the year". Then, I wrote my first article on Gather and all that changed. Between reflecting on my own and comments made by others, my Valentine's Day turned out to be a happy one filled with love...and I thought about the person I love the most, my best friend, throughout the day, spending time together via chat messenger...and sharing that love we have for one another. I've never had a "significant other" on Valentine's Day, but this year's turned out to be the best I've ever had!

Other than two roadtrips to collect our wayward social butterfly of a daughter... we did likewise. Too cold and icky! Can't say our movie choice was the best, but the food was good and the company excellent!
