I entered this in Amy George's second Bad poetry contest: Write the worst love poem.
Is this bad or what? Is it the worst love poem you've every read? All comments welcome!
O love
Thou art like a watermelon
pith and seeds
stolen by a felon
to create mixed breeds.
Seedy and seedless
a motel 'round the bend
slippery and needless
to the very end.
O love,
thou art so rare
a T-bone steak still packaged
drenched in blood red as watermelon pith
All bone when you are done with.
Cast out into the darkness
into the smelly garbage can outside
neighborhood dogs to you harken
to chew you to bits while they are barkin'
O love,
cruel like a rusty knife
stuck in the gut by a thief
you cut stain rut the life,
again, raw bloody beef
O love,
in yellow silence you get away
leaving one who plucked your seeds
upchucking all over the weeds
pith and rind and blood and rubbish
spewed while donkeys bray.
But wherefore donkeys braying
in the garden of the watermelon?
stomping and crushing
more pith a slushing
O love what are thou saying?
O love
Is there not hope?
You sayest nay on slippery slope
of greased watermelon all have chased
Hope?, You ask and answer simply,
Nope.
