Topic area moderated?

Laura, I'm not a correspondent, but I would think you could look on your group lists and see if your topic area's moderated.

Hey Laura. I see your article, so I would not worry. Politics is also shown as moderated, but everything is always posted immediately. I think, perhaps, they have it moderated for most, but put ours through without as careful of an eye? Just my guess...

I think that they probably changed the "Essential" groups to moderated after launching them due to overwhelming popularity. I wish any of the groups I owned attracted hundred of members overnight! But with the onslaught of new members and content that is being offered, they probably started moderating it to keep some of the content in check. It also may depend on what time of day/night you try to submit your work. During peak publishing hours there may be a lag while the servers/moderators sift through all the submissions.

Some of the groups I'm involved in moderate to keep unrelated material from being published there (and justly so.) This is probably another reason for highly popular groups such as the "Essentials" ones to become moderated.

Fred, I agree with the sheer number of groups. It gets confusing to me as a newer member. As far as where to post, I have joined many similar groups and when I post something new I post it to all of them that hold relevence to my material.

well, my article didn't appear at first, which si what I was expecting from a moderated group -- but now it is there twice...so I'm going to see if I can delete one of them, as it is the same article, just with images in different order.

fred, I don't think essentials groups are just for correspondents. I think they are just another way to point toward content among the many choices. I believe dragonsoul has a point, too about moderating being a way keeping the flow of material focused on topic. robert, I like your comment. thanks!

A little late, but I just wanted to tell you that I know from an email with the bureau chief that they were having technical difficulties getting the music group to behave as a moderated group in the beginning, which is why our articles went directly to the site. They've got it working now, so yeah, it takes a bit for them to show up. But they get there eventually!

My health is moderated.. I think it has something to do with whoever is "in charge" of us has to see what we're posting.. I know when I was having problems, I got an email asking if I had checked the box for the Essentials section... I guess it had something to do with putting it in the "spot light" section or whatever it's called.. I have no idea, I just know my section is moderated too
