Lost to me forevermore
her smile that shone
as stellar decor.
Warden Death shut her cell's door,
her quiet voice quelled
by its deafening roar
By that, shaken to my core.
I've now plunged through
Lost Love's cellar door.
Deep into darkness my soul tore.
I am now marooned here
on life's darkest shore.
Not an item in some seller's store,
a soul mate's love
I once wore.
Heart wings I so easily bore
now lost in the fall through
Lost Love's cellar door.
Into to the light nevermore
to the epic heights
where eagles soar.
No other one shall I adore.
once rich with love,
now beggar poor.

Is there something you're not telling me...?
Just doing some deep feeling work on this two-word "cellar door" challenge. I start writing and I am never sure what will unfold. This is the embryo that hatched this time.
HA!
I'd call that a ten.
This is an extremely well-written piece. Great flow... eerily beautiful and intertwined with just the right touches of compassion. Great job!!!
Kathryn, You are correct, I actually called the bits and pieces of phrases and sounds that initially come together in the first very rough semblance of a piece, an "embryo." As in nature, some live, grow, and thrive into a mature, finished piece. Others do not survive. They also have their own growth rate. Thanks for the positive words.
Barbara, Thank you for your glowing comment. I am happy you appreciated this poem.
Love this! Probably my favorite of them all, including mine! A ten for sure.
My words: Veyr nice, Robb! You write from a gestalt, it sounds like, as do I. Never know what is going to hatch, but this is great !!!
and your words:

So that is where that originated from.............I do remember it well now...
