Whatever her political stance she is a success story.
George W. is a right-wing southern politician and Ms. Rice is one of his most trusted advisors. She's been his advisor since day one. I hear many complaints about G.W. and Condi but nobody is crying affirmative action.
Condi is now the diplomatic face of America, and she exemplifies all that is great about our country. She is an exceptionally gifted individual who belongs in a position of power.
I just love the fact that the U.S., roundly considered a white western hegemony, is represented by an attractive single black female who plays piano for hours at a time. I love the fact that her primary diplomatic and research interests lie in eastern europe and russia, not Africa. I love the fact that she doesn't feel the need to palliate African American bloviators who want black intellectuals to confine themselves to provinces that pertain to their race.
I want Dr. Rice to run for president in 2008, but, alas, she is too smart and too happy to subject herself to a 2 year presidential campaign. Sigh... Condi, I'm single.
