I have a kitten named Bitty, whom I'm sure most of you know already because she's graced the pages of Gather quite a few times. She has an obsession with bags that I'd like to share with you.

She doesn't care what kind of bags they are. Paper bags, plastic bags, garbage bag, my purse (which is a bag)... it doesn't matter. If it's there - she's in it.

My cat Chloe is my official bag inspector. Every bag must be thoroughly inspected when it is brought into the apartment.

So much so that we have to hide all bags during the night or she'll keep us awake all night pouncing on and in them!! LOL

What a cute kitten. I think almost all cats have an internal desire to play with bags, whether they are inside it or pouncing on it. They like the confinement and the noise it makes.

Those are great pics, Faith, and Bitty is Beeyootiful. My cats have always loved bags. I think they just do it because they get a kick out of how much the humans in the house react to such a simple thing.

Cute photos! Cats are great. I love them, but my wife hates them. However, we've learned that marriage is a series of compromises. So we compromised and got a cat. Then we compromised again and got another cat.

Thanks, Cathy S! I am so happy that everyone on Gather loves her as much as I do. I woke up this morning to find her and Jim in their usual place. By my face! Yes... it would be very nice if people were as easy to please as cats. I think I'm pretty easy to please... but I'm thinking a paper bag just wouldn't be enough entertainment for me.

Thanks, Alicia! Nope... you can't take her home, I'm sorry! I crack up every time I see those last 2 pictures of Bitty and I can't believe I was able to get those shots. I guess if you're like me and you've got your camera pretty much attached to your body, you're bound to get a funny shot every now and then. Thx again for all the sweet compliments.

Bitty is a cutie for sure. Every time I see a picture of her I melt. Watch out for the plastic bags. My Missy loves these and one time she got the handle caught around her neck which spooked her and she went tearing through the house, down the steps and finally when I looked to see what was going on, she had the plastic bag flying behind her like a cape. Could be very dangerous and we now put the plastic bags away immediately.

Loves to communicate D: I do keep an eye on the plastic bags, thanks! I would feel SO bad if anything were to happen to either Bitty or Jim because of me being careless, and I have kids in the house too... so I don't leave them laying around. But, they are fun for picture opportunities! I am so glad your cat was OK and nothing bad happened to it. Thanks for sharing that story and advice with me.

Is there a cat who doesn't like paper bags? My cat Shadow loves them as well, but his sister Faith seems confused when he 'disappears' and then attacks him in the bag. They're hilarious and great entertainment.

She's adorable. Mine does the same thing. Her favorite place though is in the box that a 24 pack of soda comes in. We pull one flap up just so we can reach inside. Once it's open it's fair game. If you can't find her anywhere look inside the 24 pack.

Your cat is Beautiful! just Beautiful face and shows alot of personality in her eyes. Loved the pix. I have a cat named Jeannine [tortoise shell] who is a bagaholic too. Her pal, Buckley doesn't care too much for bags, but laundry day is their ultimate thrill. They love the dirty laundry hamper [fold up type] to play games in. The nastier the bag the better. I love your sweet baby.

I've tried to curb my cat's bag obsession (so she stops tearing up my garbage bags haha). I actually had someone give me the idea to tie up a plastic bag into a bunch of knots so they can play with it, because they like the crinkly noise. I did that back before I had any toys for her, and she wouldn't play with anything I had that most cats normally play with (like TP rolls). That was the first thing she would play with... Her current obsession would be the soda boxes, but not the regular, more square ones, but the long, skinny, rectangular ones, haha. She had best enjoy that while she's still small enough!

I think all cats have bag obsessions. I can not put a bag down without my two young cats immediately snooping to see whats inside. If it is empty it's even better because then it becomes a toy!

My parents had a siamese that LOVED bags. As soon as one hit the ground he'd be in it. That is until the time my parents were putting groceries away and my dad tried to kick on out of the way, not realizing that he was in it. After that he made sure you knew which one he was in!

That is so true. My cat Porter loves boxes! I work at a furniture company that makes cat furniture, and I am always afraid that the Kittys will always love the box more than the product!!!!

That's so cute. I had known so many kitties who would love to explore into every bags. I especially love the picture when she looks like she's laughing. I would always smile if I having laughing kitten :P.
