Holding time still

  Waiting

    Hoping for

That God damn white horse

to materialize

before your eyes.

 

It is just a fantasy

You push 

to come true

All a lie

A trick you play.

Fantasy is nice, Terry, but not when it is instilled in you as a truth in childhood. Little girls grow up into women waiting for that white horse. The problem is the guy riding it is wearing a suit of armor. Armor that he never takes down.
Really evocative poem, Sue. Thanks for putting this fantasy in perspective.
