Normally, when I pick my son up from the bus stop, I leave my door unlocked. I don't take my keys either becuase its less that a block away. Maybe even less than half of a block.
Yesterday when I returned home from this outing my door was locked. I didnt lock it. Heck, I didnt have my keys. Here i am with my four kids locked outside.
I really did start to go insane for a minute. How in the heck did my door lock on its own? I was only gone for 5 minutes-at the most. It was really more like 2 or 3.
Luckily it was nice out, and I had opened my front window earlier that day to get some of the spring-like air into the house. So I popped the screen and slid my four year old into the opening. She in turn, ran and opened the door for us.
I was making a commotion here. There was no reason for this. Well, the roofers who were working on te appartment next to mine said that the maintenance men were roaming through the appartment units, checking on the vents.
I did not get notice! My eyes were wide open. Those bastards were in my place with out any type of notice. My neighbor then chimed in that he had recieved notice. But I didnt really care because I didnt recieve any!
And to top it off, they locked my behind out!
You better believe that the apartment managers heard from me. It seems I've had to make alot of complaints lately. And they dont seem to care what end is up. Slumlords. This place seemed so nice when I first moved in a little over a year ago. But management has changed since then. They are just lucky my dog was locked in the room. He doesnt like strangers.

I locked the front door and the super had the next surprise - he couldn't just then walk in... turned out to be a leak, now I have tons of holes and a MUCH smaller sink and cabinet.
Then there was the time that there had been a gas leak and the firemen came up the fire escape, opened the gate and turned off the gas (capped the stove/oven).
Your home might be your castle, but the security just isn't the same...
Here's a click and another 10 towards your next cash-out.
