I am drawn to the sea, and wander over just as dawn begins to break.

Climbing over the dunes, I find the sea never sleeps.

The graffiti covered monument is just ahead. Was this a part of a pier?

What has the tide brought in today? More than shells and sand dollars, I see.

Birds gather to find their breakfast.
The tide is up, and the sea foam is thick.
One part of the beach is littered with smooth, round rocks.

Someone’s been here before me, walking their dog!

Looking back, I see my own footprints.

Someone’s been playing with sand dollars.

Following the prints of seagulls
I find the entire flock.
Plants hold on tightly to the sand.
Daylight has broken. The City awakens. It's time for coffee at Java Beach.
