President George W. Bush toured the floor of the New York Stock Exchange today with NYSE Group, Inc. CEO John A. Thain. Accompanied by a rousing ovation and applause from traders, President Bush becomes the second sitting President to visit the Exchange during the trading day.
It came as no surprise to anyone in the finance industry that Bush would be warmly welcomed by traders on the BIg Board. Indeed, the economy is firing on all cylinders, the Dow is near all time highs and wages are rising at all levels.
Fourth Quarter GDP report states that the US economy grew at a greater than expected 3.5%. Wages on average have gone up 3.3% annually over the last 25 years. In the past year, wages have gone up 4%.
A CNBC live capture shows one trader cheering "Four more years! Four more years!"
What are your thoughts on the current state of the economy?

Maybe he got that bj?
Now we can impeach?
Yes - I feel blessed, and yes I know something could happen to me and I could be in dire financial condition if all the wrong things happen at once. But it's NOT the norm people! So please don't come at me with your poor sob story. More than likely, your sob story is due to your poor planning and lack of work ethics. You like to play more than you work and you haven't figured out how to make money doing something you love.
1. Lying to the American people about EVERYTHING.
2. Secretly selling out our country (lopsided trade agreements)
3. Election fraud 2000/Florida 2004/Ohio
4. Illegally invading a sovereign nation Iraq)
5. Signing statements
6. Refusing to uphold the Constitution (which he SWORE to do)
7. Refusing to enforce federal immigration laws.
8. And on, and, on and on.
How does Bush refuse to enforce federal immigration laws? Specificallly what laws and to what charge/responsibility does Bush legally hold that would actually cause him to be impeached?
Hope you learned a lesson about how you go about proving a point. See ya next time :)
Way to go big guy....
He was the second President to be impeached. Nixon was never impeached, so you would be wrong if you guessed Nixon to be the first.
Anyways- it was merely an example of how you present a case as to why a Presdient would be impeached. One points to specific laws broken. One does not just willy nilly say we should impeach because he doesn't like the President.
Follow president dumb ass all the way to hell!!!
Please don't take America with you!
Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,
Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton,Clinton.
I don't hate bush I despise him !!!
When congress starts to investigate this murderous coke snorting pile of dung, he will be impeached!
Impeach Bush:
1. Lying to the American people about EVERYTHING.
2. Secretly selling out our country (lopsided trade agreements)
3. Election fraud 2000/Florida 2004/Ohio
4. Illegally invading a sovereign nation Iraq)
5. Signing statements
6. Refusing to uphold the Constitution (which he SWORE to do)
7. Refusing to enforce federal immigration laws.
8. And on, and, on and on.
Don is right about Nixon never being impeached. He resigned rather than face that. He did the right thing. He was a crook and attempted to disturb the election process. Those were serious crimes against the country and shamed the presidency. President Clinton was disgusting to be sure but did not commit a crime high enough to be found guilty and the House decided correctly about the matter.
People are living just like the bush administration .
In hock up to their eyeballs.
What other way to get rid of these criminal "fascists" but impeachment?????
Has any of that scum ever actually produced anything ,but The Great Depression??
But what about the huge deficit that the Bush administration has created? Certainly that can't be good for the long run? As you are preaching, Don, living beyond the country's means is no better than an individual doing so. I thought the "Republics" were supposed to be fiscally responsible?
Republican's are supposed to be fiscally responsible, but the last two congresses were not. That is why they are gone.
Larry Silverstein, the owner of the WTC complex, admitted on a September 2002 PBS documentary, 'America Rebuilds' that he and the NYFD decided to 'pull' WTC 7 on the day of the attack. The word 'pull' is industry jargon for taking a building down with explosives.
We have attempted to call Larry Silverstein's office on several occasions. Silverstein has never issued a retraction for his comments.
Photos taken moments before the collapse of WTC 7 show small office fires on just two floors.
Firefighters were told to move away from the building moments before it collapsed.
In February of 2002 Silverstein Properties won $861 million from Industrial Risk Insurers to rebuild on the site of WTC 7. Silverstein Properties' estimated investment in WTC 7 was $386 million. So: This building's collapse resulted in a profit of about $500 million!
"I've decided that war is good for this country's economy. Don't you people get it? I've got 2.9 trillion reasons heading straight to congress why we should keep fighting in Eye Rack and start cutting costs here at home. Who the hell needs education and health care when we've got a booming economy with military spending driving that engine at warp speed, baby!"
"Make no mistake about it, I understand how tough it is, sir. I talk to families who die." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 7, 2006
more like the Great Amputator..
Saddam was the great gasser, torturer of millions, and Osama was the great turn-3000-Americans-to-dust-in-two-hours. So when you speak of Bush being responsible for loss of life and limb of American's, you have to put it in the context of the world we live in. Bush, as President of the United States, has to make decisions that nobody would ever want to make - and they are not easy decisions and they do not come cheaply in life or limb.
To be sure, Travis, you will never be in that position to have to make those kinds of decisions. If you think the war is wrong, fine - but don't put personal blame on one man. Collectively we American's sent our troops to war - and collectively we relected Bush just to make the statement that we were sure it was the right thing to do.
The think about Dem leadership is that they raise the top tax rate to 39.6%... kind of takes away any advantage to having a good market when the fed takes it all ;)
Snord - as usual, you have nothing to add short a few insults. Put down the doobie and think - you can do it, you're young enough to not be completely burned out yet.
Anyone can throw feces. It's easy to do. But to come up with actual numbers, sources and actual facts for everything being said is something I've yet to see.
