I received this in my email today and no author is given. It is however worthy of giving thought to.

messenger." is the best way to accept the mission of being around and making it meaningful in the bargain.
God made man in His Image - Genesis 1:26a " Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness ... " New International Version
Audrey - it's always good to be reminded that God values everyone - not just the rich and famous. In fact, He tends to humble them the most.
As long as we believe that their is His will and Our will-we perpetuate the illusion of separation-I cannot see God as a HE-but I can see God as a flower, a bird, a virus, a cloud, a wind, a snowflake, as Audrey and all all of the seen and unseen expressions of the Universe. There is truly one will-and that will is FREE!
And unfortunately, that is what I believe Constantine basically did with the new testament. Rome did not fall, it condensed into the Roman Catholic Church and became the greatest marketing force the world has yet to see... well... maybe Microsoft is catching up. And, if you did not buy into it, then we will torture you and maybe at the end put you to death if you do not see it our way... The Inquisition. And, there are still people that respect the Catholic church and have faith in it as if the Inquisition never existed.
Now, I am not letting the Jewish people of old off the hook either for their contributions to the bible. Remember, they also voted Jesus be put to the death. He was a threat to their sacred ways. Actually, he pissed them off.
God does not need us. God is everything. But, God loved human kind enough to give it volition... choice... to learn. God is us.
Sin is a mistake. It was originally an archery term that meant to miss the mark. When we supposedly sin, we are forgiven immediately. We just need to learn to forgive ourselves.
It constantly surprises me. I was taught from the first days in the Lutheran religion that God is unconditional Love. Unconditional means "no conditions". And yet, there are still people that believe in hell and that God would punish what she/he is. As Philip said, if we are God... for that is all we can be... why would It punish Itself.
And yes, God's gender has been male... thanks to the Jewish men that wanted to keep women sub-servient. I pray to Mother-Father Spirit. And interestingly, I have found that women are naturally more spiritual than men. Yes... one for the ladies.
And, as long as I am Raving... why would anyone use a torture device to represent their God? If I was God... which I am... remember, God is everything... I would rather people focus on Love, Peace, or Harmony... the aspects of myself. Not on a cross. Use the words and ideas that we so cherish during the Christmas season.
Oh yes... do we get punished for our mistakes. Yes, by the Law of Corresponence... or the Law of Attraction... Karmaic Law. What we put out, we get back. Where the thinking goes the energy flows. How absolutely perfect of God to create this universal law. We are actually punished or rewarded by our own actions. How loving of the creator.
I always lost respect for mother's that would not punish their children when they caught the children doing wrong. How abusive to tell a child, "Wait until your father gets home. He will punish you." So, the child learns to fear his father... over several hours. Now, how abusive of a God that would threaten IT's children with Hell at the end of their life here. Would I respect and honor a God that would do such a thing?... You got to be kidding. That certainly is not my God.
I know that I have probably ruffled some feathers with this Raving. Well, that's why we call my articles on Spirituality... The Ravings of a Mad Man. Anyone that I did not ruffle your feathers can read more at: www.theiamproject.com
