I have several fun articles posted in other venues, and wanted to post links so any interested parties could find them.
I have a story posted at Brad Listi's most excellent The Nervous Breakdown. My story is about my visit to a mysterious Stonehenge-like place just outside of Santa Fe, and has some fun photos: Thirty-Six Days Past Solstice in a Circle of Dead Regrigerators. Please visit and leave me a comment!
I have been covering New Mexican Governor Bill Richardson's budding Presidential campaign for BlogHer.org. My first introductory article is here, and I posted an interview last night with an alternative energy expert in Santa Fe here.
I'm teaching guitar to seventh and eighth grade students as part of the school curriculum two days a week. I wrote a story for my personal blog about my students and a scientist I met at Wal-Mart.

content or ourselves too seriously. Travel with kids is not
a science nor can it be perfected. Our site showcases family
travel ideas and encourages families to pursue travel
options not necessarily mainstream.

format 1.44MB). The rate is $25 per 100 words. If an

Before you query, please Search our site, to make sure that
we don't already have an article on the same subject. If we
have an article, but it's very short or incomplete, feel
free to query us, and note that you think you can provide us
with better coverage. For reasonably short previously-
published material, no query is necessary. Just send us the
piece, in electronic form if possible: as a Microsoft Word 6
document, text document, or pasted into email. Let us know
where it was printed and whether or not there are photos or
artwork available.

Read the following categories to get an idea of what we're looking for.
Send submissions to thelongtriphome@yahoo.com
The Long Trip Home, an online literary magazine for travelers, is proud to offer an artistic perspective to the travel world. More than a bunch of guidebook entries, we are the kind of travelers who spend more time scribbling in our
journals than reading the map.
The Long Trip Home is a site for writers and travelers to share their travel experiences in a creative, literary way, through poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, travel essays,
travel journals, and photojournals. We accept some travel guides if they are done in a creative and interesting style. The aspect we are mainly searching for in submitted works
is good, quality writing. Before submitting an article, read some of our current category pieces to get an idea of the diversity and creativity of our writing.

WRITING STYLE: First-person stories should be written in
a narrative style that reads like good fiction, full of
colorful details that transport our readers to the scene.
Within that narration, where appropriate, we'd like the
writer to weave cultural and historical background.
We'll also consider third-person, issue-oriented articles.
These stories might be about tourism – for example,
exploring the impact of tourism on coral reef ecologies.
my apologies for mot keeping things updated, but you can think about moving up in the world.
And guitar lessons.
In awe,
Your friend,

Sure, anyone can write a 200,000-word novel, but a short, short
story with a beginning, a middle and an ending? Now THAT requires
skill. No dawdling. Every word counts. Yep. Every. Single. Word. So
send those adjectives packing and kick those adverbs to the curb.
Oh, and while you're at it, gaze upon the drawing for inspiration
because at some point in your short short journey, you have to
mention a bridge.
