Her: I know you're a good person, because my cats like you.
Me: Oh? I can't ever gauge anything by my cats' reaction; they have terrible taste. My youngest cat, for example, is in love with any kind of repairman.
Her: Mine are trustworthy.
Me: Well, I know the one cat liked me, because he sat next to me and licked my nose for a while -- but I didn't ever see the other one. I didn't know you had two cats.
Her: The girl cat is really shy.
Me: Um. So . . . since she never came out, how do you know she liked me?
Her: (slightly disdainfully) I've had cats all my life. I grew up with cats. I know how to interpret them.
Me: Oh. I'm glad they like me . . . that's nice. What are their names, by the way?
Her: Brother and Sister.
Me: I guess they must be littermates.
Her: No, they're not.
Me: (nonplussed) Oh.

I look forward to the next chapter!
Lydia -- Perhaps it was the prayerful attitude. :-) God knows, my cats have perfectly logical names. Especially Little Liu the Weasel Fiend.
Flit -- I agree that cats are too moody (not to mention fickle) to be trusted. Interestingly, my really stupid cat, Daria P.Olka-Dot Pants, adored Christine, and wsa very upset when she left. She doesn't usually take to strangers. She actually moped. It was weird.
I am off to go read what Soren has to say about all this. Should be a hoot!
Dave, this is really a D. Rochester way of saying "I've played with the kitty"?
Although they are very beautiful to look at. Dave's especially
(I'm not owning ANY part of my husbands comment above )
The point is this: Emma took a liking to my husband, on our first date. She sat on his clothes when we went fo a run. I took this to be a very good sign. He was a cat lover and she knew that. What she did the first night, I won't reveal, but it was another good omen.
Now my tuxedo is whining at me.
Kathryn -- What a great name for a cat. And twenty years . . . wow. I hope I get that much mileage out of my own darling kittygirls.
As far as who Noise trusts and likes, well, I trust him. If you pass the Noise test, you are in!
As far as my cat, I don't trust him at all...nasty thing has an unpleasant habit of leaving aromatic landmines around the house just to remind us Who's the Real Boss.

Anytime you want a PDF file on the books process, just send me an e-mail asking for a copy of the PFD of Crossing the Rainbow Bridge Book II in the subject line.
We were able to complete the first book in five weeks. Hopefully, we can get enough stories to make this book published in that same time period.
