Here's a peek into the felt-activity-book-in-the-making--an ongoing project ever since soon after hearing of my daughter's first child on-the-way.
Violet isn't ready for the small felt accoutrements of this book and since I invented a similar book for my children when they were whippersnappers, I may know a thing of two about when a child may be ready for such detail.
One prerequisite I have personally is that a child be trustworthy in the this-is-not-a-snack department because felt doesn't go down small gullets very well.
After that's been ascertained positively, it may be a matter of guidance given when a mite is ready to appreciate that some toys and books are special and only to be enjoyed along with ma or pa.
My plan with this article is to put a few images of some of the pages of Violet's Book which is, as you can see, titled, Violet's Book; but due to its still-ongoing progress--Violet is only 15 months old and so will not be ready for the tiny bits for a while yet--the edges are not yet done--actually, in the interest of full disclosure, I have yet to locate the perfect ribbon with which to finish the borders of the felt book's cover.
Still you see in the article's image collection some pages from a happy Grandmother to a lovely Granddaughter who may one day enjoy picking the apples from the trees and putting them in the basket and other such flights of fantasy collaged from felt just for Miss Baby!
