She Didn't Know
She stood all alone not knowing that her life would be spent all alone. She thought that the day meant she would have a partner for life. Wasn’t that what a marriage was? That’s what she thought but she didn’t know.
This happiest day of her life was a lonely one. It was just the two of them. He had not wanted a big wedding. He had not wanted a small wedding. He had wanted to run off, just the two of them. He’d said that he wasn’t marrying her family, only her. She had gone along with it. It had started then. She would go along with whatever he said for the rest of their marriage. He was the boss. It wasn’t a partnership. It never had been.
She stood all alone with her wishes for a happy life. She stood all alone as he watched her from far away, with his own thoughts on this marriage, this partnership. What was he thinking? She didn’t know. She thought she did but she didn’t.
This was the beginning of a long lonely marriage; a long, lonely life.

The picture is beautiful - and her being alone in it is perfect for the story.
I hope this is fiction.
