Friends and I are traveling to Buenos Aires at the end of March for a wedding. After spending a few days in Buenos Aires, we plan to travel to one other region (we'll have a little over a week for our entire trip). We're trying to decide between Bariloche and Mendoza. Any thoughts on the pros/cons of each destination would be greatly appreciated (if I had the time, I would love to do both). Thank you!

You can't go wrong either way. I lived in Mendoza many years ago and it's a very nice, small city. You can get into the mountains very easily from there, even Bariloche is not that far. Around Mendoza are countless, fabulous vineyards offering some of the best wines on the planet, particularly the unusual and strong red Malbec.
March is grape harvest season in Mendoza...when I was a student there they used to fill up the fountains in the park with new wine and everybody went on a multi-day binge! Mendoza makes a nice change from much-larger Buenos Aires.
Thanks for the input, Casey. We're going to be going to Mendoza.
Jennifer--thanks for the input! We leave next week. After I leave the country, I think my boyfriend will be visiting Bariloche.
Anyone else sick to death of them?
