THERE IS A WOMAN
There is a woman who seems quite confused
I often see her playing in the grassy fields like a child
She hops, skips, and twirls around in her dress, upon her face a smile
Then abruptly from exhaustion she falls to the ground
She clutches her stomach from horrendous pain all around
I wonder if I can help as I see tears gush down a perplexed face
Yet to the side I stand, wonder, and gaze.
I have met the woman that intrigues me so
Some days she is sad but forces a pleasant smile to say hello
You can tell she is lonely and in need of a friend
She has a youthful face but wrinkled eyes as if aged by the sun and wind
On other days, she has a breathtaking sense of humor and a smile that glows
Energy like a hyper child, flitting back and forth in an erratic flow
Then she disappears into a game of hide and seek that only she knows.
Across the way, I see her house remain dark and silent for days
Other times every light in the house remains on and music rowdily plays
An imaginary party ensues as you see in front of the window her silhouette dance
Once, all day she swung in the yard singing softly in a trance
A mysterious car came and took her away to have her confined
She fought for her freedom but will she disappear into the lunacy of her mind?
This women that once confused me now fascinates
I have asked God to lead me and to educate
For if she comes home I will extend my hand to be a friend
And teach others she is not the evil that they comprehend
All it takes is one gaze into her hazel eyes
To see that is where the beauty of God lies
She only needs a friend in which to lean upon their side.
